Rainforest Riches: Chocolate & Spices

About the Experience

Embark on a captivating tour that awakens all your senses! Admire panoramic views of Grenada from historic Fort Frederick, then wind through the lush rainforest to the emerald Grand Etang crater lake, climbing to 1,900 ft (579 m) above sea level. Along the way, discover the island’s rich biodiversity—keep an eye out for playful Mona monkeys (bring bananas for a chance to meet one up close).

Feel the thrill at Annandale Falls as daring jumpers leap into the clear plunge pool—an unforgettable photo moment. Then continue to the Spice Basket Cultural Village and Tri-Island Chocolate Factory, where you’ll trace chocolate’s journey from tree-to-bar, stroll the beautiful grounds, and—if it’s your first time—taste fresh cocoa fruit straight from the pod.

At Spice Basket, dive deeper into flavor and culture: experience cinnamon processing, enjoy vibrant cultural performances, browse artisan stalls for locally crafted souvenirs, and savor exquisite Grenadian chocolate. You’ll also sample four distinct types of local honey with notes like cinnamon, soursop, ginger, mace, and nutmeg—while learning about the vital role of bees and the many products this natural wonder makes possible.

Throughout the journey, your guide brings Grenada’s story to life with tales of the Grenada Revolution and Prime Minister Maurice Bishop, before a scenic ridge-line return through St. George’s—a picture-perfect finish to a half-day of island highlights.
